In Fences, Lyons asks his father, Troy, to lend him money. Do you think adult children should ask their parents to borrow money, or should they be expected to handle their financial problems on their own? Explain your opinion and connect it to your own experiences, observations, or beliefs about family and money.

Prompt: I think it’s ok for children to ask their parents for money. The problem comes from when children become reliant on their parents and can’t solve their own problems. I see it in my family with my cousins they can’t support themselves and it causes them to not be successful.

Summary: We read fences aloud as a class and discussed the book.

Reflection: I have been enjoying fences so far.
